Experimental results indicate the proposed CAD approach and the machine features from it can significantly improve the radiologists' performance in the SARS-CoV-2 virus syndrome diagnosis. With the help of the proposed CAD system, the junior and senior radiologists achieved F1-score values of 91.33% and 95.79% on balanced dataset and 94.20% and 96.43% on unbalanced dataset. The proposed approach is verified on an independent test dataset and reports promising performance. Breast cancer gene (BRCA) 1 and 2 mutations are frequently studied gene mutations (GM); the incidence of checkpoint kinase 2 (CHEK2) is increasing. We describe the imaging features of breast cancer (BC) in CHEK2 mutations, compared to BRCA 1 and 2 using mammography, ultrasound (US) and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI). Inclusion criteria were primary BC in GM carriers, treated in the same hospital. Age at diagnosis, histology, hormone receptor and human epidermal growth factor receptor 2 (HER2) status were retrieved. In this study, we design an enzymatic pathway that could co-utilize and completely oxidize glucose and xylose from biomass hydrolysate to achieve high energy density in EFC. Faraday efficiency of 92% and maximum power density of 0.14 mW cm-2 are achieved in this EFC. After the systematically optimization of enzyme loading and temperature as well as the removal of enzyme inhibitor from biomass hydrolysate by activated charcoal, the biomass sugar-powered EFC could reach a maximum power density of 0.5 mW cm-2 and remain 60% of the initial value after 10 days. However, the mechanism of this unique advantage is still not fully understood. This study first built a multilayer dielectric model of both normal and tumor blood vessels to study the electroporation effect. Since endothelial cells are the main component of normal and tumor blood vessels, this study mainly analyzed the electroporation effect on endothelial cells. The rich vascular smooth muscle cells (VSMCs), could play a protective function, allowing endothelial cells to suffer less electroporation effect in normal blood vessels. Interestingly, the endothelial cells in tumor blood vessel sustained a stronger electroporation effect than those in normal blood vessels due to the lack of VSMCs. This study may provide a conceivable explanation for why the structure of endothelial cells in normal blood vessels is preserved during electroporation treatment. We conducted a retrospective study identifying 1141 patients with SARS-CoV-2 pneumonia and 146 patients with H1N1/H3N2 pneumonia. We found a similar prevalence of seizures in the two viral pneumonia (1.05% with SARS-CoV-2 vs 2.05% with influenza; p = 0.26). We detailed clinical, electroencephalographic, and neuroradiological features of each patient, together with the hypothesized pathogenesis of seizures. Previous epilepsy or pre-existing predisposing conditions (i.e., Alzheimer's disease, stroke, cerebral neoplasia) were found in one-third of patients that experienced seizures, while two-thirds of patients had seizures without known risk factors other than pneumonia in both groups. The prevalence of pre-existing predisposing conditions and disease severity indexes was similar in SARS-CoV-2 and H1N1/H3N2 pneumonia, thus excluding they could act as potential confounders. To compare medication adherence and healthcare utilization among patients who were treated with anti-seizure medications (ASMs) as first add-on to monotherapy for epilepsy using the national health insurance claims data. A retrospective observational cohort study was conducted using the Korean National Health Insurance claims data. Patients who received ASM as first add-on to monotherapy during January 2017 to February 2018 were included. The selected patients were followed up for 12 months to evaluate persistence, adherence, and healthcare resource utilization. In total, 4277 patients who received ASM as first add-on to monotherapy for epilepsy were enrolled. The mean treatment duration of add-on ASM was 296.6 ± 108.6 days during the 1-year follow-up period and 64.3% of the total population were persistent on the add-on ASM at 365 days from the index date. The mean medication possession ratio (MPR) was 90.3 ± 23.7 and the proportion of adherent patients with ≥80% MPR was 79.3%. Lamotrigine (LTG), levetiracetam (LEV), oxcarbazepine (OXC), and perampanel (PER) groups showed significantly higher persistence and adherence than carbamazepine (CBZ), topiramate (TPM), and valproate (VAL) groups during the 1-year follow-up period.
