The incidence of adverse events in the GP group was significantly higher than that in the Pem group. Pem could be regarded as standard agent for platinum-refractory advanced UC patients.Pem could be regarded as standard agent for platinum-refractory advanced UC patients. Thrombotic microangiopathy (TMA) is a clinical syndrome consisting of hemolytic anemia, thrombocytopenia, and presence of schistocytes on peripheral blood smear secondary to disorders of systemic microvascular thrombosis. Malignancy-associated TMA is a rare entity and shares clinical features with that of HUS and TTP usually seen in patients with metastatic cancer, tumor cell infiltration of the bone marrow and/or response to cancer-directed therapy. We present a rare case of TMA secondary to breast cancer without evidence of bone marrow infiltration responsive to doxorubicin and cyclophosphamide treatment, after failed plasmapheresis with prednisone and later, eculizumab. Despite being a rare manifestation of metastatic carcinoma, early identification and treatment are essential to improving survival.Despite being a rare manifestation of metastatic carcinoma, early identification and treatment are essential to improving survival. To describe the clinical progress and management of ocular side effects in a 35-year-old patient with metastatic breast cancer who underwent oral chemotherapy with capecitabine and lapatinib. Slit lamp evaluation revealed bilateral perikeratic hyperemia, perilimbal conjunctival edema associated with corneal marginal infiltrates and epithelial and anterior stromal defects in both eyes. Slit lamp examination, in vivo confocal microscopy and anterior-segment optical coherence tomography were highly suggestive for limbal stem cell deficiency. The decision to administer autologous blood- derived serum eye drops was made. Following administration of autologous blood-derived serum eye drops, corneal marginal infiltrates, epithelial and stromal defects significantly regressed in both eyes after only 10 days. Chemotherapy was resumed and serum eye drops were prescribed simultaneously. Autologous blood-derived serum eye drops may be an adequate therapeutic choice for bilateral corneal lesions detected as ocular side effects of capecitabine.Autologous blood-derived serum eye drops may be an adequate therapeutic choice for bilateral corneal lesions detected as ocular side effects of capecitabine. The Covid-19 epidemic has severely strained health care systems across the globe. The impacts are multiple especially for patients cared for cancer. The Covid-19 epidemic has several impacts on the management of lung cancer patients. The aim of this work was to summarize the available epidemiological data on patients diagnosed with lung cancer infected with Covid-19 and describe the different strategies to improve the management of these patients by summarizing the recommendations in this area. The Teravolt cohort is an observational multicenter registry, including patients with non-small cell cancer, small cell cancer or mesothelioma but also epithelial tumors and a diagnosis of Covid-19. The Theravolt registry indicates an unexpectedly high mortality rate in patients with thoracic malignancies with COVID-19. Between March 26 and April 12, 2020, 200 patients treated in 8 countries were included. They had a performance status (PS) of 0-1 in 72% of cases, were smokers or ex-smokers in 81% of cases, had non-small cell cancer (76% of cases), were under treatment in 74% of cases, and the majority were first-line cases (57%). The hospitalization rate was 76% and the mortality rate 33%; only 10% of patients with criteria for intensive care hospitalization were admitted to the intensive care. Data presented in this registry suggest a high mortality in patients with thoracic cancer and Covid-19. Therofere, the importance to create a safe healthcare system during Covid-19 pandemic is underlined along with the need for essential effective clinical service delivery to patients with lung cancer.Data presented in this registry suggest a high mortality in patients with thoracic cancer and Covid-19. Rapid tumor growth after administration of immune checkpoint inhibitors is designated hyper progressive disease (HPD). In this study, besides the conventional HPD category, we proposed the "super HPD" category where the disease is naturally rapidly growing. Patients treated for advanced gastric cancer with irinotecan or nivolumab as a third-line treatment were retrospectively compared. Eighteen and 26 patients were treated with irinotecan or nivolumab, respectively. There were 3 HPD cases (16.7%) in the irinotecan group, 6 cases (23.1%) in the nivolumab group, and the frequency of HPD was not significantly different. Two cases satisfied the super HPD definition only in the nivolumab group. When one of them was analyzed immunologically, the number of regulatory T cells was found to be increased, resulting in a low neutrophil-to-lymphocyte ratio. Our proposed super HPD was likely to represent a true HPD, with a frequency of 7.7%.Our proposed super HPD was likely to represent a true HPD, with a frequency of 7.7%. Preservation of organ function is important in cancer treatment. The 'watch-and-wait' strategy is an important approach in management of esophageal cancer. However, clinical imaging cannot accurately evaluate the presence or absence of residual tumor after neoadjuvant chemoradiation. As a result, using radiomics to predict complete pathological response in esophageal cancer has gained in popularity in recent years. Given that the characteristics of patients and sites vary considerably, a meta-analysis is needed to investigate the predictive power of radiomics in esophageal cancer. PRISMA guidelines were used to conduct this study. PubMed, Cochrane, and Embase were searched for literature review. The quality of the selected studies was evaluated by the radiomics quality score. https://www.selleckchem.com/products/zongertinib.html I score and Cochran's Q test were used to evaluate heterogeneity between studies. A funnel plot was used for evaluation of publication bias. A total of seven articles were collected for this meta-analysis. The pooled area under the receiver operating characteristics curve of the seven selected articles for predicting pathological complete response in eosphageal cancer patient was quite high, achieving a pooled value of 0.
